このツアーは、森と人との新しい関わりを創造することを目的としている。まだプラスチックのなかった時代、多くの木製品が人々の生活にあり、多様な樹木の特性に合わせた使い方が経験則から導かれ、私たちの生活を支えていた。その供給源である森は大切にされ、樹木の知識も、人から人へと伝承されていた。それが今、経済優先による分業化、世代間継承が途絶え、一部の人のみが出入りする森となっている。
私たちは所有する森を中心に、昔の人の森との付き合い方を紐解きつつ、現代ならではの科学の力で森を研究する様々な試みをしている。私たちのプログラムは一般的な自然観察会とは異なり、森、樹木と人との新しい関わりを再考する機会を提供する。
This tour aims to create a new relationship between forests and people. In the days when there was still no plastic, many wooden products were a part of people's lives. The way to use wood products was based on the empirical rule of using trees according to their characteristics, and they supported our daily lives. The forests that were the source of these products were cherished, and knowledge of trees was passed down from person to person. However, the division of labor and intergenerational transmission of knowledge has been lost due to economic priorities, and the forests have become a place where only a few people come and go.
We are making various attempts to study the forests we own, using the power of modern science while unraveling the ways people used to interact with the forests. Unlike a typical nature walk, our programs provide an opportunity to reconsider a new relationship between forests, trees, and people. We also provide photographic support to guide you to valuable forests.
PROGRAM
1000年以上も前に先人たちが歩いた古道が存在する。名もなき人たちが歩くことで維持されてきた。そこを歩くことで歴史の一員になりながら、樹木・木材とどう付き合うべきかを探索する外的・内的アプローチの両面から探るツアー。
外的アプローチ：位山古道トレッキングによる、樹木による環境形成、人との関わりを観察。
内的アプローチ：鎌倉時代以前の縦挽き鋸がなかった時代の板づくりを通して、人が樹木をどう扱ってきたか、木材本来の美しさとは何か、さらには現代科学により明らかになってきた木材の人体への影響を体験。
There are ancient paths that our ancestors walked more than 1,000 years ago. They have been maintained by nameless people walking on them. This tour explores both external and internal approaches to explore how we should deal with trees and wood while becoming a part of history by walking there.
External approach: Observation of environmental formation by trees and their relationship with people through trekking along the Kuraiyama Historic Trail.
Internal approach: Through the making of planks in the pre-Kamakura period, when there were no vertical saws, you will experience how people treated trees, what the true beauty of wood is, and the effects of wood on the human body, which have been revealed by modern science.

私たちが所有する森林に沿う古道。千数百年前に、飛騨の匠と呼ばれた人たちが、その当時の都（平安京）まで歩いたと言われている。それはおよそ500年間続いた。
An ancient path along our forest. It is said that over a thousand years ago, people called Hida masters walked it to the capital of that time (Heian-kyo). It continued for about 500 years.
