About HIDA Leather®
HIDA Leather® is a Japanese leather crafted from the hides of Hida-gyu, a renowned beef cattle raised in the mountain region of Hida, Gifu. While Hida beef is celebrated as a premium food product, we honor the whole animal by transforming its hides into leather— giving new life to what would otherwise be discarded.
Each hide is vegetable-tanned in collaboration with Almighty Co., a trusted tannery in Himeji known for eco-conscious, gentle tanning methods. The leather is certified under Japan’s Eco-Leather standards (Certification No. 230009).
Each piece has its own character. The leather harmonizes beautifully with wood, making it ideal for furniture, cushions, and other crafted elements. It is a material that ages with dignity, developing a rich patina over time. Not just to be used, but to be lived with.
In today’s world, we believe that materials should tell their story— where they come from, how they are made, and why they matter. Choosing leather with a clear and respectful origin is not only a sustainable choice, but a way of bringing quiet meaning into the objects that surround us.
HIDA Leather® は、岐阜・飛騨地方で育った飛騨牛の皮を再活用し、自然な風合いを生かした植物タンニンなめしで丁寧に仕上げた国産レザーです。元は高級和牛として親しまれる飛騨牛。命のすべてを活かすという想いから、その皮もまた職人の手で再び価値ある素材へと生まれ変わりました。鞣しは、日本の皮革産地・姫路にて、環境配慮型の製法を実践する株式会社オールマイティと共同開発。日本エコレザー基準をクリアしながらも、機械的ではない、しなやかで静かな質感を持ちます。一枚一枚が異なる表情を持ち、木の家具や空間に寄り添うように調和します。ソファ、クッション、椅子の座面など、使う場所に応じた仕上げのご相談も可能です。
いま、素材が語る背景に目を向けることが、ますます大切になってきています。どこで、どう作られ、なぜそこにあるのか——その“由来”が、ものづくりや空間に静かな意味をもたらします。HIDA Leather®は、そんな物語を宿す素材でありたいと願っています。

製作時に出る端革（はしかわ）は、小物やアートピース、教育素材として再活用しています。学校や福祉施設などへの素材提供も行い、「無駄にしないものづくり」を広げています。不要と思われるものも、丁寧に向き合えば命の一部として生かされます。
